Practical Skills in Action

At MVTI, learning extends beyond the classroom through hands-on, real-world projects.

DREAMS Project (with IDI)

MVTI is implementing an agribusiness vocational skilling programme under the DREAMS Project in partnership with the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI). Since 2024, close to 300 adolescent girls and young women have been trained in coffee and horticulture across multiple districts.Training includes;

  • nursery management,
  • crop husbandry,
  • pest and disease control,
  • marketing and entrepreneurship.

Graduates receive startup kits to enable immediate application of skills.

EACOP Livelihood Restoration Programme

MVTI serves as a Local Implementing Partner under ASIGMA to train youth from Project-Affected Households (PAHs). The programme focuses on:

  • household microenterprise development,
  • vocational skills,
  • supervised internships,
  • income restoration.

ILO Coffee and Horticulture Project

MVTI was contracted by the International Labour Organization to train 125 youth withdrawn from or at risk of child labour. The four-month residential programme integrates coffee and horticulture, aligned with DIT standards, focusing on safe work, regenerative agriculture, and enterprise development.
